Football: Accessibility

 

The University of Notre Dame is committed to providing full access to services during all Fighting Irish home football games. If you anticipate that you or a family member may require accommodations for a disability (visible or invisible) to fully participate, review the following information. If you have additional questions, please contact the Murnane Family Ticket Office at 574-631-7356 (Monday through Friday 9 am to 4 pm ET). If you have questions on game day, please visit one of the ticket resolution booths located at gates B and D which open three (3) hours prior to kick-off.

FAQ

ADA Seating (including fans using wheelchairs)
  • Fans requiring special assistance are urged to make ticketing arrangements or exchanges with the Murnane Family Ticket Office well in advance of home football games by calling 574-631-7356.
  • Reserved seating areas for patrons utilizing a wheelchair or scooter or for those with mobility limitations are located throughout the stadium. Seating is available to patrons and one companion. Please contact the ticket office for seating availability in these areas.
  • Elevators are available on the east side of the stadium and are located near sections 10/11 and 110/111. Elevators are also available on the westside of the stadium near sections 28/29 on the lower concourse and section 129 on the upper concourse.
  • Ramps are located at Gates A, B, D, & E
Assisted Wheelchair Transport

The University is unable to provide guests with wheelchairs, scooters, or walkers, or store those items belonging to guests during events. The University does have wheelchairs available to transport guests with mobility issues to and from their seats, though they cannot remain with guests. See an Usher or Guest Services Team (Green Jackets) to request this service at Notre Dame Stadium.

Clear Bag/Medical Bag Policy
  • As a part of an ongoing commitment to safety and security, aligning with the best practices at major entertainment and athletics venues, the University of Notre Dame instituted a Clear Bag Policy for Notre Dame Stadium, including Corbett Family Hall, O’Neill Hall, and Duncan Student Center during home game Saturdays and varsity sporting events in all athletics facilities.
  • Medical bags or equipment may be approved, subject to additional screening.
Charging Stations

Rentable ChargeFUZE (portable chargers) are located: 

  • Lower concourse near sections 9, 14, 23, 32
  • Mezzanine concourse section 3

Complimentary Corded charging station are located: 

  • Upper concourse near sections 106, 113, 124, and 131
Courtesy Carts

Notre Dame offers a free flag-down, one-way courtesy cart service across campus, driven by our Guest Services Team in green jackets.

Specific times for the College Football Playoff First-Round Game:

  • Friday only: 11:00am – 5:00pm
Elevators and Ramps

Elevators are available on the east side of the stadium and are located near sections 10/11 and 110/111. Elevators are also available for on the westside of the stadium near sections 29/30 and 129.

Emergency Evacuation

In the event of an emergency evacuation, a public address announcement will be made. Uniformed officers and stadium personnel will assist guests in exiting the stadium in an orderly manner.

Family Restrooms

Larger private/family style restrooms are located on lower east concourse near sections 10/11 (in elevator bank) and upper east concourse near section 112

Guests in need of in-Stadium assistance during the game should call 574-631-8895

First Aid

First Aid locations are available at both the lower and upper concourse levels at the following sections: 11, 26, 109/110, 128/129

Nursing Mothers
  • Before gates open, the Lactation Room on the 5th floor of Hesburgh Library is available for use. See security personnel on the 1st floor for access to the space. After Stadium gates open, Duncan W211 and Corbett E469 will be available as private areas to nurse or pump. Access to these private areas requires an usher escort.
  • Please note: The University of Notre Dame is unable to store pumps or breast milk during the game. First Aid rooms are happy to provide guests with ice for their personal storage of milk. Pump for nursing mothers will be subject to additional screening.
Open Captioning

Open captioning will be provided on a portion of both the east and west ribbon boards. The captioning will be provided for all spoken words that come through the in-stadium sound system.

Parking/Shuttle Service
  • ADA parking is available in Bulla Lot ($40 per vehicle) and can be accessed from Douglas/Wilson Dr. Parking passes may be pre-purchased from the Murnane Family Ticket Office by calling 574-631-7345 or through the ParkMobile App. Processing fees may apply.
  • There are a limited number of spaces available. This area is available on a first come, first served basis beginning at 8 a.m. on game days.
  • The lot is accessible by presenting a valid state issued ADA parking permit and/or valid ADA driver’s license to the traffic officers on site. The individual issued the ADA permit must be in the vehicle when entering the lot.
  • Bulla Lot Shuttle service (ADA compliant) is available pre and post game with drop off and pick up at gate 8 of the Joyce Center.
  • Blue and Gold Lot Shuttle service (ADA compliant) is available pre and post game with drop off and pick up in front of the Library Lawn.
Sensory Bags
  • All GST booths on the upper and lower concourse will offer sensory bags. These bags are filled with items that can help lessen sensory overload or positively engage the senses.
  • For anyone having a sensory episode, please direct them to the nearest First Aid station.
Service Animals
  • Animals are not permitted in Notre Dame Stadium, except for service animals or service animals in training that accompany individuals with disabilities. The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) defines ‘service animals’ as ‘dogs that are individually trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities.’ Dogs whose sole function is to provide comfort or emotional support do not qualify as service animals under the ADA and, therefore, are not permitted.
  • See an usher if a Service Animal needs to visit a relief area (for exit and re-entry purposes)

Wheelchair (Companion/Storage/Rental)
  • Assisted Wheelchair Transport: The University has wheelchairs available to transport guests with mobility issues to and from their seats, though they cannot remain with guests. See an Usher or GST to request this service in Notre Dame Stadium.
  • Gates: All guests must go through security to enter the stadium. If you have a larger wheelchair, please see one of the Guest Service Team members (in green coats) available at each of the stadium gates. They will assist you in entering the line with an appropriate metal detector.
  • Rental/Storage: The University is unable to provide guests with wheelchairs, scooters, or walkers, or store those items belonging to guests during events.
  • Tickets: Reserved seating areas for patrons utilizing a wheelchair or scooter or for those with mobility limitations are located throughout the stadium. Seating is available to patrons and one companion. Please contact the ticket office for seating availability in these areas.
