Clear Bag Policy

As a part of an ongoing commitment to safety and security, aligning with the best practices at major entertainment and athletics venues, the University of Notre Dame instituted a Clear Bag Policy for Notre Dame Stadium, including Corbett Family Hall, O’Neill Hall, and Duncan Student Center during home game Saturdays and varsity sporting events in all athletics facilities.

Accessibility

General Accessibility

Any guests requiring special assistance are urged to make ticketing arrangements with the Murnane Family Ticket Office well in advance of home football games.

  • Reserved seating areas for patrons utilizing a wheelchair, scooter, or for those with mobility limitations are located throughout the stadium.
  • Elevators to access the stadium upper level are located on the east side of the stadium near Sections 10/11, and on the west side of the stadium near Sections 29/30.

On Game Day, accessibility seat exchange options will be available at the ticket booths at Notre Dame Stadium Gates B and D. Ticket booths will open one hour prior to gates though guests are still encouraged to make arrangements in advance to help maximize your time on campus.

Wheelchairs

The University is unable to provide guests with wheelchairs, scooters, or walkers, or store those items belonging to guests during events. The University does have wheelchairs available to transport guests with mobility issues to and from their seats, though they cannot remain with guests. See an Usher to request this service at Notre Dame Stadium.

Open Captioning

Open captioning will be provided on a portion of both the east and west ribbon boards. The captioning will be provided for all spoken word that comes through the in-stadium sound system.

Cashless Venue

Vendor and concession stands inside Notre Dame Stadium are cashless.  Payment options include credit or debit cards, Apple and Android Pay. A convenient kiosk station where you can transfer cash to a Visa gift card is located at Gate D.  The gift card can be used anywhere Visa is accepted.

All campus dining outlets outside the stadium are cashless as well. Guests may place orders through the Grubhub app and kiosks.

Guests who display unacceptable behaviors will be subject to sanctions, including refusal of admittance, removal, and/or arrest.

Gates and Doors Open

Notre Dame Stadium Gates A, B, C, D, and E open 90 minutes prior to kickoff each Game Day.

Duncan Student Center, Corbett Family Hall, and O’Neill Hall hospitality doors open 2 hours prior to kickoff each Game Day.

The University’s Guest Services Teams are committed to making the Game Day experience at Notre Dame Stadium the best in the country. Every home game weekend, these representatives come from across the United States to assist guests in the most hospitable way. They will assist with directions, distribute Game Day information, and answer any questions that one may have on a football Saturday at Notre Dame.   • Available outside Gates A, B, C, D, and E in Guest Services Booth until approximately 30 minutes post game.
Metal Detectors

Notre Dame Stadium utilizes metal detectors at all entrances. 

After having bags checked, guests will pass through the metal detectors and then have tickets scanned for entry to the venue. Entrants will not be required to remove belts, cell phones, coins, jackets, jewelry, watches, wallets, shoes or other small objects.

Fans are encouraged to arrive early at the venue to ensure a sufficient amount of time for screening.

Parking & Tailgating Regulations
  • Guests will not be permitted to enter the parking lots prior to opening time.  In addition, overnight parking is prohibited; vehicles parked in an event parking lot will be towed. Setting up tailgating tents, chairs, and other items prior to the posted lot opening time is not permitted.
  • All vehicles must vacate all event parking lots three hours after the conclusion of the event.
  • All event parking lots must maintain a defined “emergency access” lane in the center of each aisle way. Tailgates are not permitted to set up chairs, tables, canopies/tents, etc. within that area. Use one space per car/parking pass including tailgating. Vehicles and/or associated tailgates should not take up more than one space. Guests who violate this policy will be subject to immediate removal.
  • Event Parking lots will open at 8 a.m., unless specified otherwise by the University.
  • Event parking lots will be filled utilizing Zipper Parking guidelines.  Vehicles will be parked in the order in which they arrive. Traffic Control officers and parking attendants will direct vehicles to the appropriate spots.  Guests that do not follow the direction of traffic control officers and parking attendants create an unsafe environment and may be asked to leave.
  • Holding or reserving general parking spots is not allowed. 
  • Vehicle size may be no larger than 7.5 feet wide and 20 feet long.  Box trucks & sprinter vans over 20 feet long, and vehicles with trailers or tow-ins, along with non-registered golf carts or pedal cabs are not permitted. All over-sized vehicles will be required to pay and park in the RV or Bus parking lots at St. Mary’s or Holy Cross College.
  • Charcoal grill or deep fryer use is prohibited on University property. The maximum propane cylinder size is 20 lbs. Open flames (i.e. fire pits) are not allowed.
  • Kegs are not permitted on campus, in the parking lots, or adjacent areas.
  • Tailgate parties are not permitted during the event.
  • Tents/Canopies are allowed, but can not be larger than 10 ft. x 10 ft. The use of stakes is not permitted.
  • Speakers that can stand alone, are excessively loud, or are connected to an amplifier are prohibited. Live bands or DJ’s are also not permitted.
  • Large parties are not permitted on campus, including parking lots.
  • Abuse of the rights of others will not be tolerated in the parking lots or on any University grounds.
Permitted Items

When planning your visit, please note the following are permitted inside Notre Dame Stadium, Duncan Student Center, Corbett Family Hall, and O’Neill Hall during home games and other major stadium events:

  • Binoculars
  • Blankets
  • Cameras with lenses shorter than six (6) inches (without cases, must adhere to Clear Bag Policy)
  • CDC approved masks
  • Cell phones
  • Clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC bags that do not exceed 12” x 6” x 12” with logo on one side only to not exceed 4.5” x 3.4”
  • Clutch bag, with or without handle/strap, or wallet not to exceed 4.5” x 6.5”
  • Hand-held radios
  • Hand sanitizer (not to exceed 4 oz.)
  • Medical bags or equipment (subject to additional screening)
  • One-gallon clear plastic bags (such as Ziploc or Hefty)
  • Pumps for nursing mothers (subject to additional screening)
  • Seat cushions not to exceed 16” x 16”
  • Small umbrellas

 Cameras, cell phones, hand-held radios, and small umbrellas are allowed as long as they do not compromise the view or experience of others. Permitted items above, including diapers, wipes, and other supplies for babies and small children, should be placed in an approved clear bag.

Prohibited Items

When planning your visit, please note the following are NOT permitted inside Notre Dame Stadium, Duncan Student Center, Corbett Family Hall, or O’Neill Hall during home games and other major stadium events:

  • Aerosol cans or bottles
  • Alcohol or alcohol containers
  • Animals (Service Dogs are permitted)
  • Artificial noisemakers (including whistles)
  • Bags and containers that do not meet the Clear Bag Policy
  • Cameras with lenses longer than six (6) inches
  • Drones or Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS)
  • Fireworks or explosives
  • Food or beverage
  • Glass bottles
  • GoPro or selfie sticks
  • Halloween-style masks
  • Laser or pen pointers

Ticketing Policy

Only tickets purchased directly from the University of Notre Dame or through SeatGeek, the official ticket marketplace of Notre Dame Athletics, are guaranteed. Tickets purchased via other resell sites (StubHub, Vivid, Ticketmaster, etc.) or individuals cannot be validated and may not be honored. Buyers assume all risk if purchasing tickets from non-SeatGeek resell sites or individuals. Please be aware of our Ticket Terms and Conditions.

Wi-Fi/Internet

Wi-Fi is available at Notre Dame Stadium on the NDStadium17 network.

The 20 AEDs are deployed with our first aid teams on gameday and are located throughout the stadium including the premium spaces.

The possession or consumption of alcohol or alcohol containers in the stadium is expressly prohibited.

Alumni Association

Amplified Sound

Music must be confined to the tailgate area and speakers must be directed into the tailgate party. Tailgaters should contact Notre Dame Police at (574) 631-5555 when music from another tailgate party becomes a nuisance.

Artificial Noisemakers

Notre Dame Athletics does not permit artificial noisemakers to be brought into or used in Notre Dame Stadium. Anyone found violating this policy is subject to ejection.

The use and/or operation of remote-controlled equipment/ cameras/toys/aircraft (including all drones and unmanned aircraft systems) is strictly prohibited on all areas of the Notre Dame Campus without University and FAA approval. This includes gamedays and any time during gameday related activities (i.e., Friday game preparations).

Gameday Program

Programs are available for $10 in and around Notre Dame Stadium beginning Friday and throughout the game on Saturday.

Gates Open

Premium Doors (Doors 3, 4, 10, 14, & 17) open 2 hours prior to kickoff. Premium guests must. enter the door provided on their mobile ticket.
All Other Gates open 90 minutes prior to kickoff. Guests should enter the suggested gate listed on their mobile ticket.

Propane grills are permitted, but propane cylinders/tanks must be less than 20 pounds Charcoal grills, fire pits, open flames, deep- frying and propane heaters are prohibited.

Mobile Ticketing

The Murnane Family Ticket Office is located on the first floor of the Purcell Pavilion. The office is open from 9 am until 5 pm and guests may call 574-631-7356 for assistance. On game day, ticket resolution booths are available at gates B and D of Notre Dame Stadium. Hours of operation are three (3) hours prior to kickoff. More information can be found here.

Nursing Mothers

Before gates open, the Lactation Room on the 5th floor of Hesburgh Library is available for use. See a security monitor on the 1st floor for access to the space. After gates open, Duncan W211 and Corbett E469 will be available as private area to nurse or pump. Please see an usher for access to these spaces.
Please note: The University of Notre Dame is unable to store pumps or breast milk during the game. First Aid rooms are happy to provide guest with ice for their personal storage of milk. Pumps for nursing mothers will be subject to additional screening.

Player Walk (Victory March)

Fans can gather to watch Coach Freeman and the Fighting Irish march from the Basilica of the Sacred Heart into Notre Dame Stadium, approximately two hours prior to kickoff. This festive event also features performances by the Notre Dame Band, Glee Club, Cheer Team, and Bagpipe Band at the Hesburgh Library Reflecting Pool.

Safe in the Seat

Safe in the Seat is a program devised to reunite children or person who may be vulnerable if they become separated from their group. Upon entrance to the stadium, parents/guardians can obtain a “Safe in the Seat” wristband from any Guest Services booth. Stadium personnel will use the information provided on the wristbands in the event of a separation.

Seat Cushions & Chair Backs

Seat cushions are available for purchase at Gates A, B, C, & D.

  • You can purchase a seat cushion for $15 starting when gates open through the end of the 1st quarter
  • Any seat or that impedes on the comfort and enjoyment of a fan in an adjacent seat (in front, behind or to the side) is prohibited
  • Only stadium seat cushions no wider than 16’’ with no pockets or compartments will be admitted
  • Chairbacks are not permitted in Notre Dame Stadium unless medical reason with documentation or a part of the stadium rental program

Security

Notre Dame Police Department (Campus Police), along with outside agencies, maintain overall control of security and traffic on campus. All emergency response actions are coordinated through NDPD and stadium operations. Monterrey Security Staff provide customer service and general crowd control inside the hospitality areas and at all security check points.
