Band of the Fighting Irish

Midnight Drummers’ Circle — Running from 11:59 pm ET until 12:30 am ET, the Drumline from the Band of the Fighting Irish will perform in front of the Main Building.

The Gug Lobby

Visit the complex that is one of many facilities for all 800 student-athletes! Most of the space in the Gug (“goog”) is home to the Fighting Irish football team, equipped with advanced strength and conditioning and weight room equipment.

Adjacent to the Loftus Sports Center, the Gug lobby will be open to the public from 9:00 am ET — 1:00 pm ET.

Gameday Friday

Tailgating

All lots will open at 8:00 am ET on gameday and require a University issued parking pass. Guests are not allowed to save spaces at any time. To provide an optimal experience for all guests on gameday, parking is limited to one spot per pass. Vehicles and/or associated tailgates should not take up more than one space. Guests who violate this policy will be subject to immediate removal. The 2024 Parking Map and Shuttle Routes can be found here. Parking passes may be pre-purchased from the Murnane Family Ticket Office and ParkMobile.

ESPN College GameDay

ESPN’s College GameDay will be live from South Bend, IN, for the first-ever on-campus College Football Playoff game as No. 7 Notre Dame hosts No. 10 Indiana. College GameDay will be live from Library Lawn from 3:30 pm – 7:00 pm ET on ESPN. Rece Davis hosts and will be joined at the desk by GameDay analysts Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard, Pat McAfee and Nick Saban. The ‘pit’ will open for fans at 12:30 pm ET. Pat McAfee’s Kicking Contest  Back for its second season, GameDay will offer the fan-favorite exclusive contest during the live show, Pat McAfee’s Kicking Contest. Fans who arrive early will have a chance to be chosen from the ‘pit’ onsite with the opportunity to attempt a 33-yard field goal. If the contestant successfully completes the kick, he/she will win McAfee’s money. So far this season, fans have earned more than $600,000 of McAfee’s money.   • 6:00 pm ET — Trumpets in front of the Dome
  • 6:25 pm ET — Concert on the Steps in front of the Dome
  • 7:10 pm ET — Band of the Fighting Irish Step-Off from Main Building

Victory March

Weather permitting, fans can gather in front of the reflecting pool at Hesburgh Library as the Fighting Irish march from the Basilica of the Sacred Heart into Notre Dame Stadium. This festive event also features performances by the Notre Dame Band, Glee Club, and Bagpipe Band.

  • 2:30 pm ET — Glee Club Performance
  • 5:40 pm ET — Football team departs from the Basilica
  • 5:55 pm ET — Team arrives and is led into Notre Dame Stadium by Bagpipe Band

Leprechaun and Cheerleaders

The famed Notre Dame Cheerleaders and Leprechaun raise the energy all around campus during Gameday. 

The team can be seen at various times and locations including Step-Off from Main Building to the stadium with The Band of the Fighting Irish, and more.
