Cvetko to compete at LEN European U23 Championships

DUBLIN — Incoming Irish graduate transfer Luka Cvetko is set to compete at the LEN European U23 World Swimming Championships starting this weekend at the Sport Ireland National Aquatic Center in Dublin, Ireland. In total, nearly 400 athletes from 44 countries will represent in the pool. 

Cvetko will swim two events in Dublin, the 50 and 100 freestyle. His seed times are 22.67 and 50.98, respectively. The 50 freestyle will be his first event, with heats going off on the morning of Aug. 12 at 10:40 local time (5:40 A.M. EDT). The 100 freestyle is the following day, Aug. 13 at 9:59 local time (4:59 A.M. EDT).

Cvetko, a native of Varazdin, Croatia, spent his undergraduate career at Wayne State. His list of accomplishments is lengthy. The sprinter was a 15-time All-American, including 10 First Team certificates — eight of those came by way of relays, and Cvetko was also a First Teamer in the 50 free in 2022 and the 100 free in 2021. He holds the pool record at Wayne State in the 50 free (19.62).
