NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Beginning with a season-opening road date at BYU followed by a home opener against defending Big Ten champion Michigan, the University of Notre Dame football schedule for 2004 includes:

NBC Sports will televise all six home games nationally from Notre Dame Stadium.
Michigan, Purdue, Stanford, Boston College and Pittsburgh all last played at Notre Dame in 2002 – while Washington will be making its first trip to South Bend since 1996 and only its third overall.
Four of the’04 visitors to Notre Dame Stadium played in postseason bowl games following the 2003 season – Michigan (Rose Bowl), Purdue (Capital One), Boston College (San Francisco Bowl) and Pittsburgh (Continental Tire). Road opponents who played in bowl games a year ago included Michigan State (Alamo), Navy (Houston), Tennessee (Peach) and USC (Rose).
Please note the Notre Dame-BYU date (Sept. 4 in Provo) is a change from the Oct. 30 date listed on many future schedules.
