1st ACC weekly honor | 2nd Irish freshman to win

CHARLOTTE – Mere hours before tipping off at Boston College, the Atlantic Coast Conference came calling with a Rookie of the Week award with Braeden Shrewsberry’s name on it. The 6-3 freshman guard averaged 16.5 points and went 7-of-14 from deep in a 1-1 week for the Fighting Irish.

Shrewsberry broke out in Atlanta, lifting Notre Dame to a big road victory in overtime against Georgia Tech. Shrewsberry poured in a season high 25 points, connecting on a season best five made three-pointers. Against Florida State, the freshman earned eight points and five rebounds.

Going back even further … over the last three games Shrewsberry is averaging 15.0 points. He’s 11-of-21 (.524) from three in that span.

This marks the first ACC weekly honor for Shrewsberry and the second ACC Rookie of the Week award for Notre Dame, with Markus Burton previously winning as well.

Shrewsberry and company will return to action tonight at 7 p.m. ET when they take on Boston College live on ESPNU.
