Has taken his diving to a whole new level after a great summer and fall of training … valuable member of a solid Fighting Irish diving unit … three-time monogram winner.

As a Junior: Finished with scores of 338.75 and 363.65 in the 1- and 3-meter events, respectively, at the BIG EAST Championship … both performances marked the second-highest point total in those events among Irish divers for the year … all-BIG EAST honoree in the 1-meter diving event … with a total of 318.52 points, was able to capture first-place in the 1-meter event against Michigan State.

As a Sophomore: Registered a third-place finish off of the 3-meter board (542.60 pts.) at the BIG EAST Championships to garner all-conference accolades … fifth in the 1-meter competition at the BIG EAST meet (278.95) … placed 10th off the 1-meter board and 17th off the 3-meter at the NCAA Zone C Diving Championships … third off the 1-meter against Texas A&M … fifth off both boards against Purdue … fourth off the 1-meter board and fifth in the 3-meter competition against Pittsburgh … won the 3-meter event in a dual meet at Michigan State … finished second in the 1-meter against the Spartans … claimed two second-place finishes against St. Bonaventure … took home second place off both the 1-meter and 3-meter boards at the Notre Dame Invitational … placed second in both events against Cleveland State … won the 1-meter competition at the Shamrock Dual Meet Invitational and was sixth off the 3-meter board … named a BIG EAST Academic All-Star.

As a Freshman: Placed fifth at the BIG EAST Championships in the 1-meter board (461.90) and would go on to finish 17th out of the 32-diver field at the NCAA Zone C Diving Championships … that marked the top finish for an Irish rookie in 1-meter action in the meet since Andy Maggio was 14th in 2000 … first off the 1-meter board and second in the 3-meter at the Notre Dame Invitational … top 1-meter total of 307.65 came at Iowa as did his top 3-meter total of 291.37 … posted 202 total team points on the season … placed second in both the 1- and 3-meter events versus No. 22 BYU … won the 1-meter event versus Oakland.

The Stoner File: High school All-American that is the latest installment of tradionally strong divers from Indiana to compete for the Irish … quick off the board … forward and twisting groups are his strengths … member of the Notre Dame Academic Honors Program for Student-Athletes … standout for Valparaiso (Ind.) finished third at the Indiana state meet in 2003 after winning the La Porte regional … earned All-America and academic All-America honors after his final prep campaign … won conference, sectional, and regional championships and finished in the top 15 at state meet on three occasions … finished ninth in state meet as a senior … set school records in 6- and 11-dive cometitons … all-state, all-conference and team MVP as a senior … went undefeated his final campaign … achieved a national ranking and was team captain during that season … team MVP as a junior along with a regional title and garnering all-state and all-conference honors … also played for four conference championship squads in soccer … team captain of his soccer squad as a senior … mother was a diver at Indiana and father was a diver at Tennessee … has one younger sister … attended same high school as Notre Dame football players Jeff Samardzija and Carl Gioia … member of the National Honor Society … born Aug. 3, 1985, in Valparaiso, Ind. … son of Carol and Robert Stoner … enrolled in the College of Arts and Letters.
