Trio Named To Tewaaraton Watchlist

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The dynamic trio of Madison Ahern, Kasey Choma and Jackie Wolak, who combined for over half of the Notre Dame women’s lacrosse team’s offensive output a season ago, have been named to the Tewaaraton Watchlist as announced Friday evening.

With all three returning for their fifth season with the Irish, Notre Dame looks to build upon last season’s success of an ACC Semifinals run and berth in the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight.

The team is currently 2-0 on the season and preparing to take on top-ranked Northwestern later tonight at Loftus Sports Center.

Last weekend, Wolak posted a team-best 12 points and became the first member of the team to eclipse double digit points, doing so off seven goals and five assists in two games played.

Choma’s six goals include a team-high four goal performance in the season opener. In her most recent outing, Choma recorded her 200th career goal at Notre Dame, becoming just the third woman in program history to accomplish such.

Ahern rounds out the Irish honorees on the 2024 Watchlist, boasting six points thus far in her final season and sitting one assist shy of becoming just the fourth in program history to hit triple digit assists. She opened the season with a hat trick performance against Eastern Michigan before adding two goals to her illustrious career last Sunday against Central Michigan.

All three were recognized on the Tewaaraton Watchlist in 2023 with Ahern and Choma both being named to the top-25 late in the season.

The Irish are back in action tonight at home with first draw set for 7:32pm inside Loftus Sports Center.
