Two Dozen Head To Ohio State Winter Invite

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Notre Dame will kick off its championship season this weekend beginning with the Ohio State Winter Invitational.

The Irish recently hosted the Buckeyes at the Tim Welsh Classic, and it was a meet to remember. For the first time in program history, Notre Dame defeated the Ohio State men’s team.

Distance specialist Connor Lathrop is among the Irish swimmers headed to Columbus. He is coming off of his best meet at Notre Dame. At Tim Welsh, Lathrop posted best times in both the 500 free (4:29.23) and 1000 free (9:21.90). He finished eighth and seventh in those events, respectively.

On the women’s side, Madison Feehery will swim at Ohio State after a successful Tim Welsh. She notched a personal best time in the 200 breast (2:22.06), and she went a season best in the 100 fly (56.15). Madeline Menkhaus went a season best in the 200 fly at the meet (2:01.87), and she will try to better that in Columbus.

All prelims sessions for this weekend’s meet will begin at 11 a.m. The Friday and Saturday finals sessions will begin at 5 p.m., while Sunday’s finals session will start at 4 p.m. Live results can be found here, and the meet can be streamed on BTN+.
