Women's Lacrosse Names Captains For 2024

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – With the women’s lacrosse season fast approaching, the University of Notre Dame program has named its captains for 2024 featuring a pair of graduate students and a senior defender. Graduates Madison Ahern and Kasey Choma both reprise their role from 2023 while Aine Maseker joins the duo as the team’s third captain for the spring season.

Last season, the Irish went 15-6 overall, advancing to the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight for the sixth time in program history and second in the last three years. The trio of Ahern, Choma and Maseker competed in all 21 contests for the Irish a season ago, with the first two leading the team in goals with 63 and 69, respectively. On the defensive side of the ball, Maseker was impactful with 11 caused turnovers and eight ground ball pickups.

The Irish get underway next weekend with a home scrimmage against Michigan on Saturday, January 27 at 2 p.m. before their regular season opener against Eastern Michigan on Friday, February 9 at 7:30 p.m. in Loftus Sports Complex.
