SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The University of Notre Dame women’s tennis team suffered a 5-2 loss to Atlantic Coast Conference foe Duke Sunday afternoon. The Irish notched a couple of wins in singles play, but couldn’t unseat the 14th ranked team in the country.
In doubles action, the Irish won 6-2 at No. 1 behind a dynamic showing from Page Freeman and Maria Olivia Castedo, but Duke took the point by winning No. 2 and 3, 6-3, 7-6, respectively.
Freeman added another point, taking the No. 1 singles 2-6, 6-2, 6-4. Meghan Coleman added the other Irish point with a 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 win at No. 6.
