SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Big Ten Conference announced its Winter Academic All-Big Ten team Wednesday, featuring 15 members of the University of Notre Dame hockey program. To be eligible, individuals must have been enrolled at the University for a minimum of 12 months and carry a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher. The Irish honorees include seven sophomores, three juniors, three seniors and a pair of graduate students.
The sophomore class was represented by Brennan Ali, Jayden Davis, Paul Fischer, Maddox Fleming, Cole Knuble, Danny Nelson and Henry Nelson while Niko Jovanovic, Michael Mastrodomenico and Jack Williams made up the junior contingent of honorees. The senior class honorees was made up of Justin Janicke, Jimmy Mooney and Hunter Strand in addition to Zach Plucinski and Grant Silianoff both being recognized in their fifth year with the Notre Dame program.
For the sophomores, this was all seven of their’s first Academic honor while the eight upperclassmen recognized had previously picked up Academic All-Big Ten tabs a season ago. Janicke and Strand both earned their third collegiate Academic All-Big Ten honors meanwhile Plucinski and Silianoff have been recognized every year since 2021-22.
