2021 Notre Dame Softball Media Guidelines

2021 SOFTBALL MEDIA POLICIES

Thank you for your interest in covering Notre Dame Softball during the 2021 home slate at Melissa Cook Stadium. There have been a number of changes to covering a game due to the COVID-19 restrictions on campus.

There are a limited number of media seats available for each home game at Melissa Cook Stadium. ALL media requests must be made at least 24 hours prior to each game via email to Softball Communications Director Claire Kramer (ckramer@nd.edu). A confirmation email will be sent if there are seats still available for the games you have requested along with information for covering the game.

If you are making a request to cover a game less than 24 hours out, you must call Claire Kramer (913) 952-6454. We cannot guarantee entry for those requests based on seating capacity and previous requests.

There will be NO media seating (print/web, TV or photographer) in the press box area. There is also no room for visiting radio in the press box. The media section will be select seats in Section C. There will be limited space for outside photographers and videographers, who may shoot from their seats in media row, or from a designated location on top of the dugout. These locations are behind the protective foul ball net, but caution is advised, and by shooting from this location, you assume any risk associated.

In addition, media members shooting from the dugout roof must maintain six feet of distance from the broadcast camera operator. Only one media member may be on top of each dugout at a time, in addition to the broadcast operator.

There will be NO in-person postgame interviews held this season. They will all be via phone or Zoom. All interview requests must be made by the end of the fourth inning, and availability, even with a request, is not guaranteed.

All other questions or inquiries can be directed to Claire Kramer. Note that policies are subject to change based on health protocols and other operational needs.
