SOUTH BEND, Ind. — The 2023 Notre Dame baseball schedule has been released as the Irish prepare for their 53 game slate under John P. and Catherine Murphy Head Coach Shawn Stiffler, who is in his first season at Notre Dame.
The Irish are coming off a historic season as Notre Dame concluded their 2022 season at the College World Series in Omaha after the upset win against No. 1 Tennessee in the Super Regionals.
The Irish have another challenging schedule ahead of them in 2023 as this season’s schedule features 21 games against teams in last year’s tournament field of 64. The Irish are also bringing the Notre Dame brand to six of the top 30 market cities as they play 27 games on the road.
Notre Dame opens up their season in Nashville, Tennessee with a three-game series against Lipscomb starting on Friday, February 17, followed by a series against UNCG in Greensboro, North Carolina (February 24-26) and UAB in Birmingham, Alabama (March 3-5).
The Irish have 30 ACC games this season as they head to Atlanta, Georgia for their conference opener against Georgia Tech on March 10-12. Notre Dame matches up with Saint Joseph and Wake Forest on the road before finally opening up at home on March 21 in Frank Eck Stadium against Valparaiso.
ACC play comes to South Bend for the first time in the 2023 season on March 24-26 as the Irish take on the Louisville Cardinals. The homestand continues as Notre Dame plays Butler (March 28), faces UNC in a three-game series (March 31-April 2), and hosts Northwestern (April 4).
Notre Dame is back on the road to take on Pitt over Easter weekend (April 6-8) and then heads back to Indiana to host Michigan State on April 11. The Irish head to Clemson, South Carolina for the second to last ACC road series of the season to matchup with the Tigers (April 14-16).
While the Irish are on the road early, 15 of their last 20 games are at home at Frank Eck Stadium. The Irish host Valparaiso (April 18), Western Michigan (April 19), and Virginia (April 21-23) before playing one game in Lansing against the Spartans on April 25. Notre Dame closes out April hosting a series against Florida State (April 28-30) and opens up May with a game against Bowling Green (May 2) at Frack Eck.
The Irish close out their homestand with series against NC State (May 4-6) and Akron (May 12-14) and finish the 2023 regular season on the road in their final ACC road series against Boston College (May 18-20).
The 2023 ACC Baseball Championship is set to be played in Durham, North Carolina. The Durham Bulls Athletic Park, home to the Triple-A Durham Bulls, will host the ACC Championships from May 23-28.
