2024 Shamrock Classic Set To Feature Additional Community Programming

The week will feature an empowerment luncheon and event with a local children's group

SOUTH BEND, Ind. — When Notre Dame and Connecticut face off on the basketball court, it’s always a spectacle. But this year, the must-see matchup has an added element of intrigue.

This year’s Dec. 12 game between No. 2 UConn (8-0) and No. 8 Notre Dame (7-2) will be dubbed the 2024 Shamrock Classic and feature extra programming around and throughout the game thanks to Citi, Coca-Cola, Gatorade, Guinness, Mendoza College of Business, Nissan, Under Armour and Verizon. It is the third annual Shamrock Classic, with the first two having been in St. Louis in 2022 and Washington, D.C. in 2023.

On game day, Notre Dame will host a Shamrock Classic Social, a dinner and celebration of women at Notre Dame, including ND Elevate participants past and present. Guests will have the opportunity to network with colleagues from campus and the community, as well as Notre Dame Athletics corporate sponsors.

Before the Dec. 15 contest against Eastern Michigan and to conclude the 2024 Shamrock Classic Weekend, the Notre Dame women’s basketball team will host a community event in conjunction with Gatorade. A local group will experience a special pregame activity with the team, including time at Rolfs Athletics Hall before heading to the Joyce Center for the game.

The Dec. 12 game against Connecticut will tip off on ESPN at 7 p.m. The Dec. 15 game versus Eastern Michigan will tip off on ACCNX at 2 p.m.
