#30 Notre Dame Shuts Out Louisville

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The 30th-ranked Notre Dame Women’s Tennis team shutout Louisville 4-0 Sunday afternoon inside the Eck Tennis Pavilion. The Irish are now 14-3 on the year, 4-2 in the ACC and 10-2 on the home courts.

It was a fast start for Notre Dame, claiming the doubles point early. Bojana Pozder/Bianca Molnar took the 6-1 win at No. 3 singles before Carrie Beckman/Akari Matsuno claimed the point with a 6-3 victory at No. 1 singles. 

Rylie Hanford got the second Irish point in dominating fashion, winning 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5 singles. Beckman followed with a straight-sets win of her own, 6-2, 6-3 at No. 6 singles to put Notre Dame one point away from another win.

Pozder clinched the match for the Irish with a 7-5, 6-3 win at No. 3 singles. At the time of the clinch, two other courts were in favor of Notre Dame.

Notre Dame hits the road this weekend for a swing through Virginia, playing at Virginia Tech Friday, March 28th at 3:00 p.m. before a trip to Charlottesville to take on Virginia Sunday, March 30th at noon. It’s the last road trip of the year before the Irish close the regular season at home in the month of April.
