NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Pat Kavanagh collected six points (G, 5A) and Liam Entenmann made a career-high 18 saves as No. 8 Notre Dame moved to 3-0 with a 10-3 St. Patrick’s Day victory over Marquette on Tuesday evening at Arlotta Stadium.
Will Yorke (2G), Griffin Westlin (G, A) and Wheaton Jackoboice (G, A) also earned multi-point efforts for Notre Dame, which had nine different players find the back of the net in a balanced offensive effort.
The Irish outshot Marquette, 48-38, while earning a 33-26 advantage in ground balls and going 18-20 on the day in clear attempts.
Jose Boyer caused a game-high four turnovers for the Irish to go with four ground balls.
Kyle Gallagher (6-for-8) and Charles Leonard (5-for-8) helped the Irish earn an 11-5 advantage in faceoffs.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Eight different goal scorers and a 10-3 advantage in faceoffs powered the Irish to a 9-2 advantage at the break.
Kavanagh totaled a goal and five assists in the first 30 minutes to pace Notre Dame’s offense. The Irish also got two goals from Yorke and markers from Eric Dobson, Nick Harris, Mo Mirer, Quinn McCahon, Mikey Drake and Jackoboice in the half.
Entenmann stopped nine of 11 shots on goal to anchor the Irish defense in the first half.
Westlin netted Notre Dame’s long second-half goal 1:41 into the third quarter, but Entenmann stood tall with nine more saves in the second half to keep the Eagles grounded.

The Irish racked up nine goals in the first half with eight different players finding the back of the net and Pat Kavanagh collecting five assists in the first 30 minutes.
NOTRE DAME NOTES
- The Irish improve to 9-0 against Marquette in the all-time series.
- Corrigan moves to 308 career wins at Notre Dame, just three shy of tying Bob Shillinglaw (310 at Delaware) for the all-time wins leader at a single school at the DI level.
- Notre Dame has allowed just 5.33 goals per game over the first three games of the season.
- With five assists on Tuesday, Kavanagh now has 18 assists through three games.
- The 18 saves for Liam Entenmann on Tuesday were a career-high. He now owns a .720 save percentage after three contests.
