Aces Top Wings As Former Irish Take Floor At Purcell

Former Notre Dame guard Jackie Young had 28 points

SOUTH BEND, Ind. — In the first ever nationally televised WNBA preseason game in league history, the Las Vegas Aces defeated the Dallas Wings at Purcell Pavilion on Friday night, 112-78.

Three Irish players were in action, including the game’s leading scorer and former Notre Dame guard Jackie Young, who finished with 28 points. She went 13-13 from the charity stripe and also notched 9 assists.

Jewell Loyd had 10 points in her Aces debut, while Arike Ogunbowale had 5.

 

In attendance to watch the contest was Karen and Kevin Keyes Family Head Coach Niele Ivey, who coached all three guards while she was an assistant for the Irish.
