MADISON, Wis. – Julia Andreach and Nibi Ghosh continued their undefeated singles records on Sunday, each notching a victory in a hard fought 5-2 road battle as the University of Notre Dame women’s tennis team took on No. 25 Wisconsin.
The Badgers took the doubles point with wins on courts No. 1 and No. 3. The Fighting Irish fought to take three first sets, nearly taking two more but ultimately dropping them in tiebreaks. Wisconsin found their second point with a win on No. 3, while Andreach put the first point on the board for the Irish with a 6-3, 6-2 rout of her opponent on No. 2. Ghosh quickly tied the score at 2-2 with a straight set victory on No. 6. The Irish battled hard but fell in the final three highly competitive matches on courts No. 5, No. 4, and No. 1, respectively.
Andreach is now a perfect 5-0 in singles this spring while Ghosh has extended her record to 6-0.
