NOTRE DAME, Ind. โ After helping the No. 7/8 University of Notre Dame womenโs lacrosse team to a 12-11 come-from-behind win over Vanderbilt Wednesday, sophomore Barbara Sullivan has earned a spot on the BIG EASTโs Weekly Honor Roll for the second consecutive week, the league office announced Monday.
Sullivan, who has now earned the honor three times in her career, tied a school-record with nine draw controls in the victory over the Commodores. The Irish were tied at five at half against Vandy, and trailed 6-5 just a couple minutes into the second frame, before Sullivan went to work in the draw circle to give Notre Dame opportunity after opportunity to score on the offensive end. The Garden City, N.Y., native scooped up all nine of her draw controls in the second half as the Irish collected 10 draw controls after halftime compared to just four for the Commodores.
Sullivan also had a team-high five ground balls and a caused turnover as Notre Dame improved to 6-0. The Irish are just one of five undefeated teams remaining in Division I.
Notre Dame returns home at 7 p.m. Friday as it kicks off BIG EAST play with a showdown with Rutgers. Fans can follow the game through live stats or free video by clicking on the links on UND.com.
