RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Charel Allen scored 18 points and Ashley Barlow sparked a pair of first-half spurts, helping No. 14 Notre Dame beat Richmond 84-59 Wednesday night.
Barlow scored five points during a 7-0 run that gave the Irish a 21-13 lead with 9:43 remaining, and five more during a 14-8 run over the final 4:11 of the first half gave Notre Dame a 40-30 lead at the break.
The Spiders (7-7) could get no closer than 12 after the Irish took a 46-30 lead with 18:10 remaining.
Barlow finished with 16 for Notre Dame (12-1), which won its 10th straight game. The Irish forced 28 turnovers, scored 35 points off them, and made a season-high 27 free throws.
Devereaux Peters and Erica Williamson added 12 each for the Irish.
Johanna McKnight and Christina Campion each had 15 for Richmond.
