The Notre Dame baseball program has announced a sellout for Monday’s Opening Night Dinner at the Joyce Center Fieldhouse, featuring keynote speaker Tommy Lasorda. Ticket sales exceeded the 1,000 mark on Friday night, with the event earlier being moved from the Joyce Center concourse area due to the high volume of interest.

“We obviously are very excited about the interest from the South Bend community in this event and we all are looking forward to a great event on Monday night,” said Notre Dame head coach Paul Mainieri, whose 2002 squad is ranked as high as third in the national polls.

The Irish open their 56-game schedule next weekend at the University of New Orleans Classic, with the first game slated for Friday, Feb. 22, versus the University of Missouri.
