Beaudreau Leads Irish At Clemson Invitational

SUNSET, S.C. — The Fighting Irish women’s golf team wrapped up play at the Clemson Invitational on Sunday morning, finishing 17th (302-304-309=915) at The Reserve at Lake Keowee (6,471 yards/Par 72). The tournament was played March 26-28, with several weather delays.

Sophomore Lauren Beaudreau was Notre Dame’s top finisher, tying for 36th (75-74-73=222) after a final round 73. Her third round, which was played later on Saturday and concluded early on Sunday, included a pair of birdies, 13 pars and three bogeys. Each of her three rounds counted towards team scoring.  

Junior Claire Albrecht tied for 68th (73-78-79=230), with her opening round 73 tying for Notre Dame’s best round of the tournament. All three of her rounds also counted towards team scorning. 

Freshman Julia Bordeaux’s opening round 76 marked her lowest career round.

Kent State (284-292-276=852) won the tournament, besting Virginia Tech by 10 strokes, while Caley McGinty (Kent State) earned medalist honors with a 206 (-10).

Notre Dame will play in the IU Spring Challenge on April 4-5 at the Covered Bridge Golf Course in Sellersburg, Indiana in a small team event which will be hosted by Indiana University.
