Biondi Inks Professional Contract With Wolves

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – A graduate forward for the Irish this past season, Blake Biondi becomes the most recent Irish alumni to lace up his skates at the professional level after signing an Amateur Tryout Contract (ATO) with the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League.

“I’m extremely grateful to have spent my last chapter of college hockey at the University of Notre Dame,” Biondi said. “It was a year that my wife and I will always look fondly back on. I am proud to forever be apart of the Notre Dame family and thank the coaching staff and team for a memorable year. I’m very excited to sign an ATO to begin my professional career with the Chicago Wolves.”

Biondi joined the Irish prior to the start of the 2024-25 season and quickly made an impact on the offensive side of the puck. The Hermantown, Minnesota native ranked third on the team in points while appearing in all 38 games for Notre Dame in his final season. His 12 goals and 15 assists on the year were among the most of all Irish skaters as the winger combined for 27 points on the season, just one shy of his career-best.

Anchoring one of the nation’s top powerplay units throughout the season, Biondi scored seven goals on the man-advantage and contributed heavily to the team’s 25 total powerplay goals for a success rate of 22.7-percent.

Biondi made his professional hockey debut Friday evening as the Chicago Wolves took on the Texas Stars.
