Bridget Deehan Named ACC Defensive Player of the Week

Junior goaltender made career-high 12 saves in win at No. 3 Northwestern

NOTRE DAME, Ind. — Junior goaltender Bridget Deehan has been named the ACC’s Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday afternoon (Feb. 18).

Deehan anchored a stellar Irish defensive effort with a career-high 12 saves and four ground balls in last Friday’s 17-15 road win over third-ranked Northwestern. 

Deehan followed that performance with a pair of saves in Sunday’s 24-4 victory over Central Michigan to improve to 3-0 on the season. 

In her first three outings of 2020, Deehan has totaled 22 saves with a .524 save percentage and 7.23 goals-against average to go with eight ground balls.
