COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Notre Dame women’s tennis doubles team of junior Brook Buck (Yukon, Okla./Oklahoma Christian School) and sophomore Kelcy Tefft (Enid, Okla./Chisolm) lost in the semifinals of the 2006 ITA National Indoors on Saturday.
Buck and Tefft dropped a hard fought match to the fouth-seeded duo of Megan Moutlon-Levy and Katarina Zoricic of William & Mary, 8-6. The W&M tandem, ranked No. 22 in the preseason ITA rankings, improved to 17-1 overall with its six win over a ranked foe this season. Buck and Tefft saw their six-match winning streak snapped and dropped to 11-3 on the season.
Senior Christian Thompson and senior Catrina Thompson (Las Vegas, Nev./Bishop Gorman) reached the consolation doubles final with an 8-5 victory over Whitney Benik and Nina Suvak of Florida. The Thomspons were not able to close out the consolation draw with a victory as they lost to Susie Babos and Zsuzsanna Fodor of California, 8-6.
