PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. – Notre Dame’s eighth-ranked tandem of senior Brook Buck and junior Kelcy Tefft dropped their opening round match of the 2007 Riviera/ITA Women’s All-American Championships to second-ranked Federica van Adrichem and Ani Mijacika of Clemson, 8-4.
Buck (Yukon, OK) and Tefft (Enid, OK) hoped to avenge last year’s season-ending loss to van Adrichem and Mijacika in the NCAA Doubles Championships, but the Clemson duo proved too strong and came away with an 8-4 victory.
Buck and Tefft, playing together for the first time this fall, dropped to 59-15 for their career.
van Adrichem and Mijacika now boast a 3-1 record for the fall season. They will face Amanda Fink and Gabriela Niculescu of USC in the quarterfinals.
