CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Announced by the league office on Tuesday, sophomore forward Annabelle Chukwu has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season.
Chukwu helped guide the Irish to a 3-2 victory over No. 3 Duke on Thursday evening. Chukwu scored the game-winning goal in the 64th minute, her third game-winner of the season. She also assisted on the match’s opening goal in the 24th minute, finishing with three points on the night. This marked her fourth straight match with multiple points.
She’s currently tied for second in the ACC with seven goals this season and is also second in the conference for game-winning goals (3).
The #2 Irish are now 7-0-1 and 2-0 in the ACC as they host #22 North Carolina on Wednesday, Sept. 24 at 6 p.m. at Arlotta Stadium.
