Erica Williamson enters her second season on the Notre Dame women’s basketball staff for the 2017-18 season, after returning to her alma mater as video coordinator in June 2016. A member of the Fighting Irish program from 2006-2010, Williamson’s new role with the program consists of coordinating all program technology and video needs, assisting the coaching staff with their recruiting and scouting efforts and managing the program’s social media accounts, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat. She also assists with the planning and coordination of youth summer camps.

“Erica brings an enormous amount of energy and drive to our program,” Karen and Kevin Keyes Women’s Basketball Head Coach Muffet McGraw said. “I am confident that her passion for Notre Dame and her experience with our program will allow her to bring us to the next level from a video standpoint.”

Prior to her return to South Bend, Williamson spent the 2015-16 season at Towson University as an Assistant Coach. At Towson, she focused on the development of post players through workouts and individual film instruction. She assisted the coaching staff with scouting reports and game plans and contributed to the program’s recruiting efforts. She also managed all social media content across the four major platforms.

From April 2012-2015, Williamson served as Director of Basketball Operations at George Washington University, under the direction of then-head coach Jonathan Tsipis (current head coach at Wisconsin and former Associate Head Coach at Notre Dame). Williamson coordinated team travel, was responsible for self-scouting and assisted in the management of the team budget. She assisted the coaching staff with recruiting video needs and served as camp director for all summer camps.  Williamson helped GW to the 2015 NCAA Tournament, Atlantic 10 regular-season and tournament championships and the most wins in school history (29-4 record).

Prior to George Washington, Williamson was the Director of Basketball Operations at Loyola University Maryland during the 2011-12 season. During her stint with the Greyhounds, she coordinated all components of team travel, practice and game video footage and served as the liaison between the women’s basketball program and athletics administration.

From Charlotte, N.C., Williamson attended training camp with the WNBA’s New York Liberty in 2010. She also spent time playing overseas with SV Halle Lions in Halle, Germany, before her professional career was cut short due to injury.

While at Notre Dame, Williamson was a crafty, energetic center who started 60 of her 130 career games. She contributed to four NCAA Tournament runs, including two Sweet Sixteens. In 2007, she was named to the BIG EAST All-Freshman Team after playing 31 games and averaging 6.1 points and 5.3 rebounds per game. Williamson received the 2010 Christopher Zorich Award for her contributions to the University and community at-large. She also served as the Notre Dame SAAC President from 2009-10. She completed a summer internship with WSBT, received three BIG EAST All-Academic Team selections and was recognized twice with the Team Spirit Award.

Williamson graduated from Notre Dame in January 2010, with a Bachelor of Arts & Letters in film, television and theater. She currently resides in South Bend, Ind.
