Courtney, Nguyen Qualify For NCAA Championships

The juniors also made the cut last year

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Notre Dame junior divers Grace Courtney and Ben Nguyen qualified for 2025 NCAA Championships this week after standout performances at Zone C Championships. Both student-athletes are attending the nation’s top collegiate meet for the second consecutive year.

Courtney earned a spot in the women’s 3-meter event after placing sixth overall (638.45) in Columbus. She also finished 16th in the 1-meter (500.35). The Cincinnati native placed 21st in the 3-meter at last year’s NCAA Championships.

After placing fourth in the platform event at ACC Championships, Nguyen had another great performance in his best event to qualify for NCAA Championships (753.25). He finished sixth in the event and took 16th in the men’s 3-meter (669.65). Nguyen finished 37th in the platform at last year’s NCAA Championships.

The women’s meet runs March 19-22, while the men will follow March 26-29. Both meets will be held at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way, Wash.
