NOTRE DAME, Ind. – University of Notre Dame senior attack David Ulrich (Baltimore, Md.) has been named the Great Western Lacrosse League Player of the Week after leading the Irish to victories over Butler (12-3) and Fairfield (12-5) last week. Ulrich registered four goals and nine assists in the two games as Notre Dame, ranked fourth in the country, improved to 11-1 overall and 5-0 in the GWLL with the two wins.
Ulrich is the third different Irish player this season to earn GWLL player-of-the-week honors.
The Irish captain the school’s career assist leader against Butler when he registered three goals and a season-high five assists. He tallied a goal and dished off four assists against the Stags as the Irish clinched their third straight GWLL crown with the win.
A finalist for the Tewaaraton Award and honorable mention All-America selection last season, Ulrich has 68 goals and 107 career assists in 52 career games. He is the team’s second-leading scorer this season with 16 goals and a team-high 26 assists, which marks the fourth straight season he has led the Irish in assists.
Notre Dame plays its season-finale on Sat., April 28 when the Irish entertain Harvard at 1:00 p.m. on Moose Krause Stadium.
