CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Junior Notre Dame fencer Chelsea Delsoin was named the ACC Women’s Fencer of the Week, the conference announced Wednesday. Delsoin is the fourth women’s fencer this season (Lola Possick, Josephina Conway, Siobhan Sullivan) and the sixth overall (Kruz Schembri, Jonathan Hamilton-Meikle).
Delsoin went 13-2 in sabre against No. 5 Duke, No. 10 Penn State, Boston College, Brandeis and Johns Hopkins. She was 3-0 against Duke, Penn State and Boston College. The Jersey City, New Jersey native led Notre Dame to five dual wins as the Irish women improved to 28-1 on the season.
The postseason is next up for the Irish as they head to Durham, North Carolina for the ACC Championships from February 21-22.
