SOUTH BEND, Ind. – John and Bobbie Arlotta Family Offensive Coordinator/Tight Ends Coach Mike Denbrock has been named a semifinalist for the Broyles Award, which recognizes the top assistant coach in college football.
Denbrock has taken the Notre Dame offense to new heights in 2025 with an offensive signature of versatility.
Among all FBS teams, Notre Dame ranks fifth in team passing efficiency (168.44) and turnover margin (1.09), seventh in scoring offense (41.2) and tenth in passing yards per completion (14.04).
Denbrock has guided the Notre Dame offense in 2025 to embrace its identity as one of the most versatile, explosive, productive and efficient offenses in the country.
The running back duo of Love and Price are an unmatched one-two punch among FBS programs. Love is a finalist for the Maxwell Award and the Doak Walker Award, while Price is a finalist for the Paul Hornung Award and the Jet Award.
This season, Love has posted 185 rushes for 1,306 yards and 17 touchdowns, adding 26 receptions for 274 yards and three touchdowns. He averages 7.1 yards per rush on the season. Price has rushed 113 times for 674 yards and 11 touchdowns, with six receptions for 87 yards and two touchdowns, as well as 12 kickoff returns for two touchdowns and a 37.5 kickoff return average.
Denbrock works closely with freshman quarterback CJ Carr as he has developed into not only one of the best freshman quarterbacks in the country, but among the nation’s best passers regardless of age. Among all FBS players, Carr ranks fifth nationally in passing efficiency (168.1), sixth in yards per pass attempt (9.35) and sixth in passing yards per completion (14.06). Carr is a semifinalist for the Davey O’Brien Award and the Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Year.
One of the most underrated aspects of Notre Dame’s offense is the willingness, desire and commitment of Notre Dame’s pass-catchers to block in the pass and run game. Notre Dame’s offensive line has kept remarkable stride, cohesion and dominance after losing two of its five starters to injuries for periods this season. Now starting new starters at center and left guard, the line has not missed a beat, paving the way for Notre Dame’s offense.
