WILMINGTON, NC. — The Notre Dame women’s golf team led the field in pars on the first day of the Landfall Tradition, after getting off to a quick start and staying steady through the first nine holes. Running into some bogey trouble on their back nine, the pars proved imperative and the Irish finished the day in 16th place.
Isabella DiLisio and Mia Ayer led the Irish, both shooting two-over par 74. Maddie Rose Hamilton came in at third on the Notre Dame leaderboard, shooting 76, and Emma Albrecht shot one stroke behind her with a 77.
After two birdies on her first two holes, freshman Abby Heck had to grind through a the round, and came in with a seven-over par 79. Alison Snakard, playing as an individual, carded an 80. The Irish played the round with Duke and Purdue.
Notre Dame sits in 16th place out of 18 teams. Duke leads the field with a team score of 277 and Duke’s Ana Belac shot a 66 to take the outright lead. Both scores were single-round records for the Landfall Tradition.

Notre Dame will tee off Saturday at 8:30 a.m. ET and the Irish are paired with teams from Kentucky and UCF.
