DiLisio Fires Six-Under Par 138 To Take Two Round Lead

PEORIA,Ariz. — Sophomore Isabella DiLisio fired a first round 68 (-4) and followed up with an afternoon 70 (-2) to take a three-stroke lead after two rounds of play in the Westbrook Spring Invitational at the Westbrook Village Golf Club (Vistas Course).

DiLisio will head into Monday’s final round of play with a three stroke lead, with Audrey Judd of Nebraska, Gabby Curtis of Wisconsin, Chomchana Phuchanbanchob of Kansas and Madison Talley of Kansas State all tied for second at 141 (-3).

As a team, the Irish carded an 11-over par 587 (292-295-587) on the day and are in seventh after 36 holes of play.

Kansas (576) leads the 13-team field, followed by Kansas State (578).

Monday’s third and final round will include pairings teeing off with a shotgun start beginning at 10:30 a.m. (ET). Live scoring will be available on birdiefire.

Leading The Irish Lineup

DiLisio’s first round 68, which was her lowest round of the season, included seven birdies, eight pars and three bogeys as she was two-under par on both the front and back nines. Her second round, two-under par 70 included three birdies, 14 pars and one bogey. Her best previous 36-hole total was a 142.

DiLisio also had a strong showing at the the 2016 Westbrook Spring Invitational as well when she placed ninth with a two-under par 214.

At The Westbrook Spring Invitational

The Fighting Irish have returned to the event for the third consecutive season, having also participated in 2015 and 2016 versions of the Westbrook Spring Invitational. Last season, Notre Dame carded a three-round total of one-over par 865 (286-290-289), which marked the fifth-lowest 54-hole score in school history at that time.

After playing in the University of Wisconsin’s Westbrook Spring Invitational, the Fighting Irish will play host to the 2017 Clover Cup on March 17-19 at the Longbow Golf Club in Mesa, Arizona.
