SOUTH BEND, Ind. — University of Notre Dame men’s lacrosse standouts Will Donovan and Josh Yago had their names called on Tuesday night during the 2026 Premier Lacrosse League draft.
Donovan is headed to the Boston Cannons and Yago to the Philadelphia Waterdogs.
Donovan was taken with the 15th overall pick in the second round while Yago came off the board with the 21st pick in the third round.
With the two selections, the Fighting Irish now have had 58 players selected in the history of pro lacrosse drafts.
Donovan is the best LSM in the country, locking down the opposition’s top midfielder on a regular basis while creating havoc in passing lanes and being elite on the wings for faceoffs.
The senior is a three-time All-American and All-ACC honoree. Donovan played a major role in both national championship teams, helping the Irish win the title in 2023 and 2024.
Yago transferred to Notre Dame after graduating from the Air Force and has fit into the offense seamlessly. The attackman leads the Irish in points (32) and assists (12) while tied for the team lead in goals (20).
Yago was named the 2025 ASUN Offensive Player of the Year and All-American honorable mention.
Donovan, Yago and the Irish wrap up the road portion of its regular-season schedule on Saturday, taking on No. 16/15 Duke in Durham. Faceoff is scheduled for 12 p.m. ET and the game will be played at Koskinen Stadium. The matchup will air on ESPNU.
