Notre Dame, Ind. —– Notre Dame attack Chris Dusseau (Columbus, Ohio), an honorable mention All-American selection by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA), has been selected to play in the 58th Annual USILA STX North/South Senior Lacrosse Classic. The game features the top senior Division I college lacrosse players in the nation. The 1999 contest will take place on June 12 at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. immediately following the all-star game between the top senior players from Division III.
Dusseau, who started all 51 games at attack during his career at Notre Dame, will be a member of the South team. He finished his Irish career second on the all-time goal-scoring list and became the sixth different Irish player to earn All-America honors in the program’s 19-year history. Since 1993, Notre Dame has had at least one player earn All-America honors.
Dusseau, a four-time Great Western Lacrosse League first-team honoree, led the Irish in goals scored four consecutive years. The two-time GWLL player-of-the-week honoree and Irish co-captain in ’99, scored a career-best 31 goals this season and finished third in the Irish scoring column with 33 points. He ranks second all-time in goals scored with 113 and eighth in career points. Dusseau tied the Notre Dame mark for goals scored in an away game when he netted a career-high six in a 9-7 Irish victory over Massachusetts on April 24.
Dusseau led the Irish to an 8-6 record in ’99 as Notre Dame made its seventh NCAA tournament appearance in eight seasons and finished 14th in the final USILA rankings.
