CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Announced by the league office on Tuesday, sophomore forward Izzy Engle has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season.
Engle scored four of Notre Dame’s six goals this week, as she recorded an impressive 9 points across two matches.
She scored her first hat trick of the season (second of her career) against Virginia Tech on Thursday evening, where she also tallied an assist on the game-winning goal for 7 points in the 5-0 win. She became the first player in the ACC to register a hat trick in a league match this season. On Sunday, she scored Notre Dame’s sole goal of the day in a 1-1 draw at Wake Forest.
She leads all conference players with 17 goals this season and is third nationally. She is also the only player in the ACC with double-figure goals in league play currently (11).
