KANSAS CITY –The Notre Dame Fighting Irish had three players on the 2025 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I Women’s All-American Team, announced by United Soccer Coaches on Friday afternoon.
Senior Leah Klenke and sophomore Izzy Engle were named All-American First Team and sophomore Annabelle Chukwu was named All-American Second Team.
While this is Klenke’s first All-American First Team honor, Klenke has been a four-year standout for the Irish. This season she took home her third straight All-Region honor and her fourth-straight All-ACC honor. Klenke was named to the ACC Championship All-Tournament Team and also received CSC Academic All-District honors this season.
This preseason, Klenke was named Preseason All-ACC, Top Drawer Soccer Preseason Best XI Teams, and was on the MAC Hermann Trophy Preseason and Midseason Watch List.
After earning USC All-American Second Team honors last season, Engle earned All-American First Team honors this year. Engle earned All-Region honors for the second-straight year and was also named the ACC Offensive Player of the Year and First Team All-ACC this season. Engle became the first Notre Dame striker to win ACC Offensive Player of the Year and just the fifth player in conference history to earn Freshman of the Year and Offensive Player of the Year in consecutive seasons.
She scored 44 points across 19 matches, which is the third-best in the nation in points per game (2.32). She scored 19 goals this season, which is fifth nationally. She was also recognized as the ACC Offensive Player of the Week twice this season, was named to the ACC Championship All-Tournament Team, received CSC Academic All-District honors, and was on the MAC Hermann Trophy Preseason and Midseason Watch List.
Engle has now scored an impressive 38 career goals in just 41 matches played through her sophomore season.
This is also Chukwu’s first All-American honor. The sophomore forward was the Irish’s second leading scorer with 12 goals and 27 points, scoring 6 game-winning goals for Notre Dame this season, earning First Team All-ACC honors. She was also named to the MAC Hermann Trophy Midseason Watch List, was named to the ACC Championship All-Tournament Team, received CSC Academic All-District honors, and earned ACC Offensive Player of the Week honors twice this season.
Chukwu is amongst the top-10 in the conference in game-winning goals (2nd with 6 goals), in total goals (7th with 12 goals), and points per game (10th with 1.35 points per game).
