BARCELONA – Junior Notre Dame fencer Eszter Muhari captured the first World Cup title of her career on Saturday, capturing the Barcelona Women’s Individual Epee World Cup.
Muhari becomes the second women’s épéeist in the last couple of weeks to win a major international title, joining teammate Kaylin Sin Yan Hsieh who became the first épéeist in program history to win a Grand Prix title in Doha.
The junior defeated South Korea’s Sera Song in the championship bout by a score of 15-9 to become the champion.

Muhari is no stranger to success on the international stage, as she earned bronze during the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics for Team Hungary. The junior also won the 2023 NCAA National Championship individual title in epee with a 21-3 record.
