In 2022, named the first-ever AFCA All-American First-Team long snapper, participating on 119 snaps without a fumbled snap; also was named a semifinalist for the Patrick Mannelly Award. Vinson competed in all 13 games as the Irish’s top long snapper, and helped block for field goal and punt units that did not have a kick blocked throughout the season. The Irish went 49-49 on PAT attempts, and Vinson added a tackle on special teams.
In 2021, played in all 13 games for the Irish as the first-team long snapper; also posted a tackle on special teams. Participated in 133 snaps, all without an errant snap. With his help, the Irish went 54-55 on extra points, while averaging 43.1 yards per punt with a 72-yard long. Opponents averaged just 6.3 yards per punt return, with a 17-yard long.
In 2020, won the job as starting long snapper after graduation of John Shannon, inaugural winner of the Patrick Mannelly Award for the nation’s top long snapper in 2019. Vinson saw action in each game that season, also posting a tackle on special teams. The Irish went 50-50 on PAT attempts that season, and Vinson had 117 snaps, all without errant snaps.
