Alcohol Service and Policies

 

 

The sale of alcoholic beverages at Notre Dame football, hockey and basketball games will expand to include both premium and general admission seating beginning with the 2025 football season. Fans will have the opportunity to purchase alcoholic beverages at concession stands inside Notre Dame Stadium, Purcell Pavilion at the Joyce Center and Compton Family Ice Arena. This expansion will provide for a modern fan experience, consistent with other professional and collegiate stadiums and venues throughout the nation. Notre Dame is committed to promoting responsible consumption and ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for all attendees.

 

Alcohol Service Information

Alcohol Information
  • All guests must be 21 years of age to purchase an alcoholic beverage.
  • A valid I.D. is required for purchase
  • There is a limit of 2 alcoholic beverages per valid I.D per transaction. If an individual is already in possession of one beverage, they will only be permitted to purchase one additional beverage.
  • Alcohol service will be discontinued at the end of the 3rd quarter.
  • Outside alcohol and alcohol containers are NOT permitted inside Notre Dame Stadium.
  • Alcoholic beverages may NOT travel between premium spaces and the concourse.
  • Fans may NOT exit the Stadium with alcohol.
  • We reserve the right to refuse service to intoxicated persons.
  • Acceptable forms of valid United States identification for alcoholic beverage purchases are: United States Driver’s License, State issued I.D. w/photo, Military I.D. w/photo, Passport, Passport I.D. Card, Mexican Consular Card
  • Government Warning: According to the Surgeon General, women should not drink alcoholic beverages during pregnancy because of the risk of birth defects.

NOTRE DAME IS COMMITTED TO

  • Respectful Behavior: Fans are expected to be courteous to fellow attendees, including fans of the opposing team, and to stadium personnel.
  • Appropriate Language: Foul, abusive, or obscene language and gestures are not tolerated.
  • Responsible Alcohol Consumption: Intoxication or other signs of alcohol impairment leading to irresponsible behavior can result in consequences, including ejection.
  • Safety: Fans are expected to follow instructions from Notre Dame staff and stadium personnel.
  • Respect for the Game: Interfering with the progress of the game, such as throwing objects onto the field, is prohibited.
  • Enthusiastic Fan Support: While standing and cheering is encouraged, fans are asked to be mindful of others

Guests not adhering to Notre Dame Stadium’s Courtesy Guidelines will be subject to sanctions, including, refusal of admittance, removal, and/or arrest.

Designated Drivers

Notre Dame encourages responsible alcohol consumption and for groups to designate a sober driver. On gameday, those over 21 years of age with a valid driver’s license electing not to consume alcohol and provide safe transportation for their group are eligible to receive a complimentary bottle of water by clicking on the free water button on the Fighting Irish App. No purchase is necessary and the coupon can be redeemed at any of the “Grab N’ Go” locations throughout the Stadium on gameday. Notre Dame makes no representations or guarantees regarding the sobriety or fitness to operate a motor vehicle of any individual receiving complimentary water.

Recycling

Recycling is available to guests throughout the Stadium Concourses to collect empty bottles and cans. Look for the green barrels labeled “recycling”.
