NOTRE DAME, Ind. – A perfect cap to a career and final year with the Notre Dame women’s soccer program for grad student Sammi Fisher. The California native was drafted 19th overall by the Chicago Red Stars in the 2021 NWSL Draft. Fisher helped put the Fighting Irish back on the map, achieving a top-16 ranking, a top-four finish in a loaded ACC field (No. 1 rated RPI conference) and a Sweet 16 appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
Fisher finished with a team best 13 goals on the season, which more than doubled her previous season best. Her 13 goals also ranked 18th in all of Division I. Furthermore, of those 13, four were game-winners.
Fisher also tallied a team high six assists, thus totaling 32 points, which ranked second in the ACC and 24th in the country.
Fisher was a three-time All-ACC selection, earning First Team distinction in 2021. She also earned Top Drawer Soccer Best XI Third Team honors along with a United Soccer Coaches All-Region First Team distinction.
The 5-6 forward ultimately accomplished 73 points on 29 goals and 15 assists.
