Former Notre Dame basketball player Jay Miller died suddenly of a heart attack on April 5 in Tempe, Ariz., where he resided. Miller, who served as an FBI agent the past 30 years, was a teammate of current Notre Dame president Edward “Monk” Malloy during the early 1960s and received a presidential medallion from then-Notre Dame president Rev. Theodore Hesburgh, C.S.C., in 1965.
