GREENSBORO, N.C. – The ACC announced its season awards on Wednesday and four Irish players earned conference recognition for their play on the pitch this season. Senior Jack Lynn received first-team status for the second straight season while senior Philip Quinton was named to the third team. Matthew Roou and Josh Ramsey each earned All-Freshman ACC honors.
Lynn is receiving his third All-ACC honor after being selected to the first team in 2020-21 and second team in 2019 while Quinton picks up his first honor from the conference.
#27 JACK LYNN
The senior forward leads the Irish in scoring on the season with seven goals. The St. Louis native finished the regular season with three game-winning goals over the year, coming in victories against Michigan, Virginia and Purdue Fort Wayne. The forward has also added three assists to his ledger this season. Lynn now has 28 career goals over the course of four seasons at Notre Dame.
#2 PHILIP QUINTON
Quinton has been a mainstay in Notre Dame’s defense over the last four seasons at the center back position. The 6-foot-6 defender has played a pivotal role in helping the Irish record nine clean sheets this season. Quinton has scored the first two goals in his Notre Dame career this season, coming against Virginia Tech and Purdue Fort Wayne.
#21 MATTHEW ROOU
The freshman forward has enjoyed an impressive rookie season for the Irish, scoring six goals to rank second on the team. Roou has played in all 18 games for the Irish and has earned seven starts at one of the striker positions. Roou has also added three assists to his name.
#18 JOSH RAMSEY
Ramsey made an instant impact on the Notre Dame defense, starting 17 matches this season while making an appearance in all 18 at the center back position. The freshman defender has helped Notre Dame record nine clean sheets this season. Ramsey also provided an assist with a ball over the top to Roou against Boston College.
