Notre Dame women’s lacrosse freshmen Allie Murray and Barbara Sullivan had a unique experience this past summer as they were on the U-19 Team USA women’s lacrosse squad that won the gold medal at the Women’s Lacrosse World Championships in Hanover, Germany.
Now three months into their freshmen years, the two sat down with UND.com to talk about their experience with Team USA, how it felt to win a gold medal for their country and how the experience has helped ease the difficult transition from high school lacrosse to the Division I level at Notre Dame. Head coach Christine Halfpenny also stops in to talk about the impact of having Team USA members on the roster and how it benefits the women’s lacrosse program.
