NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Academic and athletic honors continue to roll in for the Notre Dame women’s lacrosse team as graduated senior Caitlin Gargan was named on Monday to the IWLCA’s Academic Honor Roll.
One of a school-record nine players to hit the 20-point plateau for Notre Dame in 2015, Gargan also picked up this academic honor for being at least a junior while maintaining a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5.
Gargan not only helped Notre Dame to the ACC semifinals and the second round of the NCAA championships on the field, but she also helped contribute to her team claiming IWLCA Academic Honor Squad status for its combined cumulative GPA. The Irish have been named an IWLCA Academic Honor Squad in each of head coach Christine Halfpenny’s years at Notre Dame.
Gargan was a part of the first senior class in Irish women’s lacrosse history to reach the NCAA Championships in each of her four seasons. She graduated in May with degrees in marketing and psychology.
