Notre Dame, Ind. — Senior attack Tom Glatzel (Baltimore, Md.) has been named the Great Western Lacrosse League Player of the Week (GWLL) for the third time this season after scoring four goals and dishing off two assists in Notre Dame’s 13-4 victory over Ohio State on April 1. Glatzel earns the honor for the third time this season as the seventh-ranked Irish improved to 6-1 overall and 1-0 in league play with the win.
For the second consecutive season, Glatzel leads the team in scoring with a team-high 23 goals and seven assists for a team-best 30 points. He leads a high-powered Irish offense that is averaging 10.43 goals per game.
Glatzel stands sixth all-time with 89 career goals and ranks eighth with 130 career points.
Notre Dame is enjoying one of its best seasons in school history as the Irish have registered win over four ranked opponents ? Penn State, Rutgers, Virginia and Loyola. The only loss was an 11-10 overtime decision at Hofstra.
The Irish begin a four-game homestand this weekend when they face GWLL league foes Denver (Sat., April 7) and Air Force (Mon., April 9) at Moose Krause Stadium.
