CHARLOTTE, N.C.— For the third time this season, Hannah Hidalgo has earned conference player of the week honors. The junior has now earned the award nine times in her career, which is tied for third in league history with Asia Durr and Alyssa Thomas.
Hidalgo averaged 22.5 points per game, 5.5 assists, 5.0 rebounds and 3.5 steals in two games over the last week. The 45 total points are the most of any conference player over that span.
Hidalgo scored a game-high 28 points on the road against No. 13 Ole Miss, marking the most points an opposing player has scored against the Rebels this season.
The guard followed it up by flirting with a triple-double in the blowout win over Florida State in the conference opener. Hidalgo scored 17 points and added 9 assists and 7 rebounds.
The junior enters the week leading the country in steals per game (5.5) and third in scoring (25.9).
Hannah Hidalgo and the Fighting Irish return home to Purcell Pavilion for a midweek matchup against Morehead State at 7 p.m. ET on Thursday, Dec. 11. The game will air on ACCNX.
