NOTRE DAME, Ind. — University of Notre Dame head women’s golf head coach Susan Holt has announced the signings of Montgomery Ferreira and Jackie Feldman. The duo will join the Fighting Irish ahead of the 2021-22 season.
“These two have excelled at the highest level of the junior golf ranks and will contribute to the success of our program in a big way in the coming years,” Holt said. “As young women they are both of the highest character and will make a positive impact on our team culture. We are building for the future and the addition of Montgomery and Jackie has our future looking bright.”
Feldman, a native of Austin, Texas, will join the Irish following her graduation from Westlake High School. The 107th ranked golfer by the AJGA, Feldman earned two Texas State Championships (6A) with Westlake.
“Jackie has had a lot of success this past year on the golf course,” Holt said. “She is really starting to show signs of becoming the impact player that we thought she could be for our program. Really looking forward to watching her game develop over the next four years.
An AJGA Junior champion, Feldman also set a record 7-under-par en route to a win at the Texas Masters/IMG Junior World Qualifier. In 2018, Feldman also finished second at Augusta National’s Drive, Chip and Putt National Finals, improving upon her third-place finish the year before.
Ferreira joins the Irish from Tacoma, Washington, where she will graduate from Bellarmine Preparatory School, the same high school as current Irish freshman Julia Bordeaux.
With 13 AGJA top-10 finishes, Ferreira brings two All-American honors to the Irish next season. A Washington State High School champion, she is a two-time USGA Women’s Fourball Qualifier and AJGA champion.
“We are so happy to announce the signing of Montgomery. We have known her for a number of years as her sister Jordan played for us and graduated in 2017,” Holt said. “Montgomery has developed into a very accomplished player and it has been so fun to watch! She has the ability to shoot low scores and is a very steady consistent player that will step in and be a key player for us the day she arrives on campus.”
Off the course, Feldman is a member of the National Honor Society, a 2020 AJGA Scholastic Junior All-American, and a scholar for the College Board National Hispanic Recognition Program. In addition to Ferreira’s sister, Irish alum Jordan, her sister, Elle, plays soccer at Haverford College.
Ferreira and Feldman are set to join a young, talented Notre Dame team for the 2021-22 season that is slated to include senior Claire Albrecht, juniors Lauren Beaudreau, Madelyn Jones and Jessica Meyers and sophomores Julia Bordeaux and Chloe Schiavone.
